- Description
- The Reverend William Bradford Dodge taught for more than 30 years in Salem’s private and public schools. In 1834, the Salem School Committee appointed him principal of the newly established Colored School where he taught about 60 Black children each year. His daughter Judith Dodge ran its Primary Department. One of Dodge’s students was activist Robert Morris, who later praised him for treating all of his students justly and kindly.
