Broadsides
Historically, broadsides were announcements, news, proclamations, or ads printed on one side of a larger piece of paper to be posted for the dissemination of information to the public. This selection of more than 500 broadsides from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries are from Essex County, Massachusetts, primarily from the town of Salem. As we continue to digitize, we will add items from the breadth of our extensive broadsides collection.
