Naumkeag Steam Cotton Company Records
The Naumkeag Steam Cotton Company, incorporated in 1839, was built on the waterfront in Salem, Massachusetts, and its primary product was cotton sheetings. David Pingree (1795-1863) was the first president of the company. The Naumkeag Steam Cotton Company Records, 1835-1854, contain correspondence, most of which is directed to David Pingree; financial records; and the corporation's by-laws. The records digitized in this online collection represent the entirety of the physical collection. The records were digitized with the support of the Pingree heirs.
