Ukiyo-E Postcards
This collection of Japanese woodblock print postcards was collected by Walter Pollock Magee in Japan in the early 1910s. The collection holds a variety of reprints of classic Ukiyo-E prints, particularly by Andō Hiroshige. The collection includes a nearly full run of the Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō, as well as assorted other prints from One Hundred Views of Edo and Famous Places in Kyoto. A number of unidentified prints by other artists are also included. The postcard backs were not filled out and are substantively the same across the 87 postcards. An example of a back can be found here.
